My brother and I found A Course in Miracles in 1977, and in 1978, we started Miracle Distribution Center. We had no idea what the Center would be, but we did trust what the Course was offering to the world. And we wanted to be part of His plan for our salvation.

After nearly 50 years of being a student of this transformational material, I am still amazed by how our guidance so long ago has connected us with so many partners on this path. Whether it was the original gang of Course principles who became dear friends and family, or those of you who are long-time or new students, we are still here with a purpose to be “truly helpful.”

It is always so delightful to have people find us for the first time, or those who have fallen away from the Course and then returned with so much gratitude to find we are STILL here! Many times, you will drop us a line to share your story about how you found the Center and our services. Such was the case when we heard from Mary in California, a subscriber to our weekly A Course in Miracles live stream meetings. Mary’s journey of finding us reminded us how the concept of our free weekly live stream came to be. Here is its origin story.

Before the pandemic in 2020, we offered a subscription plan to view our Course meetings, which were not as they are now, free every Wednesday at 7 pm (Pacific time). When the shutdown occurred, and there was so much uncertainty, we were guided to make the meetings free so that we could “be truly helpful.” It was a leap of faith, but our faith was not unfounded. Many of you became subscribers so you could watch at your convenience and have access to hundreds of meetings in the archives. This allowed us to continue, for the last six years, to make the live meetings free! Our live stream currently reaches 90% of the world’s countries, and this would not have been possible without our subscribers and supporters. Here is Mary’s story…

“I had been attending a weekly study group, and when the pandemic hit (in 2020), we of course disbanded, and one of our participants mentioned your website and live stream as an alternative. Because of the pandemic, you guys made the Lessons in Light available without a subscription, and after listening, I decided to subscribe so I could listen anytime and access all past meetings. I listened to all of the archival meetings, usually one meeting a day, and I truly feel they are what got me through the pandemic. I would put them on as background while I was working in my studio.

I find that sometimes study groups can get kind of heady, and I’m a simpleton. I so appreciate how Beverly can just break it down to the bones, clear and concise, with everything we need. I gained so much clarity from the MDC meetings and found grounding and new friends during an uncertain, solitary time. Actually, I feel pretty unsettled now as well. Maybe it’s time for me to hit the archives again.”
