The thoughts below were shared at the Center’s study group meeting this week. You might enjoy watching this clip . . . and then reading on. Those who are subscribers to the weekly meetings will have a deeper understanding of what the clip was representing, but we think everyone will find it enlightening!
Here is just a little background of what we discussed to set up the video…
Review: Lesson 54 (part 5)
(Lesson 20) I am determined to see.“Recognizing the shared nature of my thoughts, I am determined to see. I would look upon the witnesses that show me the thinking of the world has been changed. I would behold the proof that what has been done through me has enabled love to replace fear, laughter to replace tears, and abundance to replace loss. I would look upon the real world, and let it teach me that my will and the Will of God are one.”
The Course reminds us that the world we see is not our reality, but even within this world we can find the peace and healing of God. If our focus in on the reality of God/love, then we will begin to see those witnesses. If our focus is on the insanity of the world, we will have no trouble finding those witnesses — because we have become so used to them and they have become a habit. But, a habit cannot change the reality of God –- we just need to refocus our attention on Him and His gifts of healing: “love to replace fear, laughter to replace tears, and abundance to replace loss.” As the Course tells us, “What you desire you will see. Such is the real law of cause and effect as it operates in the world.”
