Attend a Study Group at Miracle Distribution Center
Every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. the Center presents a study group on A Course in Miracles, facilitated by Beverly Hutchinson McNeff, president and co-founder of the Center. In the group we tackle real life challenges and view them through the healing power of A Course in Miracles. Each week the group explores a workbook lesson from the Course and also covers a section from the text. These sections explained for their theory as well as their application into our daily lives. As a student of the Course since 1977, Beverly has a knack for bringing the Course's principles to life!
"Bev's comments and insights into the Course have opened up miracles to me."
"Thank you, Bev, for being so open, loving and funny and helping the Course become a part of me."
Weekly Study Group Recordings
Each study group meeting at the Center is recorded, so that those who cannot attend the meetings in person can join us. In the group we tackle real life challenges and view them through the healing power of A Course in Miracles. Each week the group explores a workbook lesson from the Course and also covers a section from the text. These sections are read and explained for their theory as well as their application into our daily lives. Beverly Hutchinson, the group's facilitator and student of the Course since 1977, has a knack for bringing the Course's principles to life!
This is just a sampling of the wonderful letters we receive from our many listeners:
"The study group recordings are a welcome treat each week and help me stay focused on what's really important. Thank you!"
"Through the weekly study group recordings, your work has become a revelation and a comfort in my life."
"The study group recordings are so helpful to me -- they are a wonderful, wonderful support! They help me to stay focused and unified. I am deeply appreciative of this ministry through your Center."
"I have been listening to the Wednesday night recordings and they have been a real lifeline for me. I am beginning to feel part of the group. Most mornings I listen to part of a CD as soon as I get up. I laugh and cry along with you all, and I am delighted at how relevant the sharing is to my life and my daily concerns... . Again many thanks for being there and for your willingness to join with those of us who are geographically distant."
What is the Miracle Prayer Ministry?
A COURSE IN MIRACLES is a tool that helps us return to the "home" we only thought we left. It gently reminds us over and over again that we need do nothing to experience our salvation, to experience God's peace, except decide that is what we want above all else, "I want the peace of God" (W 348) more than this grievance, "I want the peace of God" more than my desire to be right, "I want the peace of God" because I want to know myself.
Willingness plays a big role in the accomplishment of the Course's objective. Although you may be God's holy child right now, your awareness of it may leave a little to be desired. So the Course asks you to have "a little willingness" to be healed, to choose for peace, to forgive, to join with another.
The Miracle Prayer Ministry of Miracle Distribution Center was established to offer a joining opportunity between people and thereby God. You don't need the Ministry to join with people or God, but it can be a nice reminder and a wonderful service to those who are in need.
The purpose of the Ministry is not to make a problem "real" but to identify the seeming need in our life or the lives of a loved one and have the willingness to place the need and the outcome under God's loving guidance. And to remember, you are never alone. All minds are joined.
"They enter one by one into this holy place, but they will not depart as they had come, alone." (Text p. 392)

Prayer Thought for February:
"I choose the joy of God instead of pain" - Lesson 190
Prayer: Thoughts from A Course in Miracles
Prayer is a gift:
"Prayer is the greatest gift with which God blessed His Son at his creation." (The Song of Prayer p.1)
It is the way by which we leave our separate goals and interests and realize our oneness with God. It is a reconnecting with God's gifts to us.
Prayer is a release:
"Prayer is a stepping aside, a letting go, a quiet time of listening and loving." (SP p.2)
Through prayer we release the needs we think we have into the loving Hands of God, so that He can show us the answer that is already present. It becomes a time of renewal and awareness. It is in those quiet times when God's answers and insights come to us. Prayer becomes a way of pausing from the fears, judgments and worries of the world that block us from our answers so that love and forgiveness can show us a new perspective.
Prayer is a recognition:
Prayer is a means for making a shift in our perception, for changing our minds about our situation, rather than changing the situation.
"It [prayer] is the medium of miracles . . . the only meaningful prayer is for forgiveness . . . Prayer for forgiveness is nothing more than a request that you may be able to recognize what you already have." (T p.45)
Prayer realigns us:
Prayer puts us "back on track." Through those quiet times of joining with our Source, we are reminded of the peace and serenity that are our true inheritance. That "you yourself are a miracle of God." (T p.45) And as God's miracle, nothing is impossible for you to face and work through.
Prayer is a willingness:
Through prayer, we can give our "little willingness" to the Holy Spirit and ask how to express our healed perception in the world: what to say, what to do, etc.
"There are decisions to make here [in the world], and they must be made whether they be illusions or not." (SP p.2)
Our goal is not to make the problems we experience "real," but to be willing to look at the problem and let go of your goal or outcome and ask only for God's Answer of love to guide us.
Praying for others:
In praying for others, we are not asked to solve their problems or mediate between them and God.
"But it [praying for others] does mean that another stands beside you and helps to raise you up to God." (SP p.2)
Since "prayer is always for yourself," (SP p.5) praying for others becomes a way of strengthening your own faith. As you reach out to others in loving support, you can't help but heal issues in your own life, for by offering love to others, you automatically receive! Now you realize there is no difference between the healing of your life and another's, for they are both the same. And this is the prayer we offer to all who join with us:
"I cannot go without you, for you are a part of me." (SP p.8)
Prayer works:
As we truly understand and practice together the power of prayer, we recognize that our prayers are answered as we extend our love. When we recognize the Holy Spirit's presence in all people and situations, His answer to our needs is given us, for we are offering our willingness and asking for nothing else but healing. Prayer then becomes not a thing we do in our rooms at night with hands folded, beseeching God to meet our needs, but a blessing of love we offer to every event and person who comes our way day by day, moment by moment. Prayer works, for the Christ is recognized!

The Prison Project
The Prison Project of Miracle Distribution Center (MDC) sends books and other inspirational items to those in prison. Through your generous donations, we have been able to supply many newly-started spiritual libraries in prisons. In some cases we have been able to provide multiple copies of books so more inmates can read about the love that is their essence. These principles are truly making a difference and quenching a thirst for truth that many in prison have found no other place.
We will do our best to keep you abreast of the work that is being done and the way this work is impacting inmates. The following is one such letter:
Dear Miracle Distribution Center,
A few days ago, I received An Introduction to A Course in Miracles from you. I have really enjoyed it. I have received a lot of stuff from other places and none of it has touched me the way your material has. My search is finally over. I am an inmate in 24/7 lock down. Will you please send me A Course in Miracles and could I please receive The Holy Encounter? Thank you!!!
Respectfully,
Jason -- Lovelady, Texas
We feel honored to be able to meet each request that is sent to us, because of your generous support of The Prison Project. If you would like to support this project, you may make a tax deductible donation here.
If you are aware of an inmate who would like to have books related to the Course, or The Holy Encounter magazine, let us know. Because of strict rules for sending items into prisons, please check with the particular prison authorities before you request that we send items.
Together we can experience healing by demonstrating healing through our willingness to be to truly helpful to others.
